Ultra Filtration, Strong Flow and Simple to Fit
UF filters at 0.1 to 0.2 micron, trading some fineness for a noticeably higher flow rate than RO. There are three models. X-Stream UF by MEX filters at 0.1 micron, mounts on the wall in six stages, flows at 2.5 litres per minute and uses a Double O-ring seal for high pressure. M-Stream UF04 by MEX filters at 0.2 micron, mounts on the wall in four stages, flows at 3.8 litres per minute and uses Quick-Change cartridges you can swap yourself with no tools and no service charge. PRO-4 by PENTAIR filters at 0.15 micron using a Hollow Fiber Membrane with a Carbon Block, flows at 3.8 litres per minute and is rated for 3,600 gallons, about 13,600 litres.
The catalogue states that PRO-4 reduces bacteria by 99.9999% and viruses by 99.999%. Those figures belong to that one model, not to UF as a whole. Ratings differ between models in this system, so check the specification for each one before ordering.
Micro Filtration, the Widest Choice Here
MF filters at 0.5 to 1 micron. It is the system with the most models, six of them, and the one that starts at the lowest price. PBS-400 is designed to work with a kitchen sink tap, flows at 8.3 litres per minute and uses polyphosphate to reduce scale. H-104 mounts on the wall and uses MICROPURE technology with SUPER FINE CARBON. F-3000-B2B is a three-stage wall unit that filters chlorine, lead, pesticides, asbestos and agricultural chemicals. F-2100 is a two-stage wall unit with a Carbon Fiber Block. CTD-100M sits on the counter or on the wall, adds silver ions to inhibit bacteria and is rated for 22,680 litres or one year. M-Stream MF03 by MEX filters at 1 micron in three wall-mounted stages and changes without tools.
The NSF Independently Certified mark, which certifies the whole unit, is stated in the catalogue for PBS-400, H-104 and F-3000-B2B only. For M-Stream MF03 the catalogue states that the tap supplied with it is NSF certified, not the unit. The free items differ by model, and CTD-100M is one of the models for which the catalogue lists none.
Nano Filtration from Korea, by CUCKOO by MEX
The catalogue states that nano filtration removes contaminants down to 0.01-0.001 micron and filters viruses and bacteria up to 99.99%. There are three models. CP-WN601HW is a countertop unit with four cartridges, dispensing cold, hot and room-temperature water, with five cold-water settings, a sterilisation function at the tap and a child lock. CP-U011B is a countertop unit with three cartridges, rated for 6,000 litres, and can feed an external tap. MN021W is a five-stage countertop unit that adds minerals through a Mineral Ball and is rated for 3,600 litres. All three sit on the counter, so no sink cut-out is needed.
The 99.99% figure is stated in the catalogue for nano filtration only, not for every system here. The sterilisation function at the tap is listed for CP-WN601HW only, and the Mineral Ball for MN021W only. CUCKOO by MEX is the name printed in the catalogue; distribution and after-sales service are by MEX.
Reverse Osmosis, the Finest in the Range
RO pushes water through a membrane rated to 0.0001 micron, the finest of the four systems. There are three models. T600 produces 600 GPD, mounts under the counter with three cartridges, runs tankless, reduces TDS by up to 96.8% and carries a Double-Checking System that shows filter status at the tap and on the unit. GRO-50 SYSTEM is a GREEN RO design with a 1:1 ratio of purified water to waste water and a 10-litre pressurised tank. X-Stream RO75 produces 75 GPD, holds 12 litres and uses a Double O-ring seal for high pressure. RO suits homes with high mineral content or hardness, at the cost of a slower flow rate than the other systems.
The 96.8% TDS reduction and the Double-Checking System are stated in the catalogue for T600 only. The GRO-50EN cartridge holds NSF/ANSI Std.58 as a Component, which certifies the part rather than the whole unit. X-Stream RO75 appears on a PENTAIR page but the unit itself carries a MEX sticker; the brand is not confirmed.
What comes free varies by model
Here the catalogue prints the free items per model, not across the category as elsewhere. Three models get installation plus a year of cartridge changes, the rest get a tap or an extra housing, and three models list nothing at all.
